Why it’s awesome

SingPositive, like the Arlington Family Folk Chorale and Newton Family Singers, is a family-friendly community performing group. We sing (and play) folk, rock, traditional, and ethnic songs from around the world - some classical, too! We learn the music in weekly rehearsals, and perform at community events throughout the year. Children are included and provided for: joining us for whole-group songs, practicing their own songs or playing musical games in classes, hanging out with the adults or coloring books at the table in back with the babysitter.

A few details

SingPositive, JP! rehearses on Sunday afternoons at Spontaneous Celebrations. Our music season is divided into semesters - Fall (September - December) and Spring (February - May) - with about 15 rehearsals and 2-3 performances per semester. We have one big final concert at the end of each semester.

We are actively recruiting members from JP surrounding neighborhoods, but any interested individuals and families are welcome, regardless of where they live. No prior musical experience is required for singers: all that's needed is the ability to sing in tune. Singers with harmony singing experience are especially welcome. Instrumentalists are expected to have a basic to intermediate proficiency on their instrument.

Tuition

Tuition is $150 for adults and $100 for children (toddlers-16) per 15-week semester. Family sponsorships and individual scholarships are available for members undergoing financial hardship - we want everyone who wants to be a part of SingPositive to be able to join us!
